Experience the magic of the moonlit water with our Full Moon Paddle — a peaceful, 1.5-hour guided float on the beautiful Sandy River Reservoir, a 700+ acre body of water just minutes from the retreat.

Once a month, on the Saturday closest to the full moon (April through September), you’ll glide across the calm, shimmering surface under a glowing night sky. Your friendly guide will share stories about the reservoir’s history, point out local wildlife, and answer any questions as you take in the tranquil beauty of this unique evening adventure.

Kayak, PFD, and Paddle will be supplied for each participant.

Start Time: 8 pm. Please arrive 10 minutes early in order to fill out waivers and be fitted with PFD's.

Meet at Sandy River Outdoor Adventures, located at 147 Monroe Church, Rice VA. Participants will follow one of our guides (by car) to the boat landing, just a couple minutes' drive from the retreat.

All boat rentals are for use at Sandy River Reservoir, a 740-acre lake with plentiful wildlife and great fishing.

Kayaks are a great choice for those with little to no boating experience! Our sit-on-top kayaks are lightweight, maneuverable, and very stable - offering a great family experience!

Tandem Kayaks can seat two people. Children ages 7 and up are permitted but must be accompanied by an adult in the boat. All participants must be able to SWIM. Swimming is not permitted in the Sandy River Reservoir. Closed-toe shoes required. Kayaking is a water sport, so you may get wet. Fishing permitted with a valid Virginia Fishing License. Weight limit 500 lbs.
